How To Make a Sorghum Latte AT HOME

Here at Parengo Coffee, we thrive on keeping things fresh and fun! Every month, we have a new coffee that is suggested by our customers. Our drink for the month of May was a Sorghum Latte, using local sorghum from the Downtown Sikeston Farmers’ Market. It was no surprise (since our customers suggested it), that it was popular and highly favored by our regulars. Not to mention, the taste of it is remarkable. We even had a few people ask, “How do we make this at home?” So today, we are going to spill the (Parengo) beans on how to make your very own sorghum latte from the comfort of your home.

Here’s what you’ll need:

3 ounces of locally produced sorghum molasses

3 ounces of espresso

Steamed, froth, or scalded milk (You can use whole, almond, coconut, or soy milk)

Here’s what you need to do:

Add 3 ounces of sorghum molasses to your coffee cup

Then add 3 ounces of espresso

Fill the rest of your cup with steamed, froth, or scalded milk of your choice

If you’d like your Sorghum latte iced, do not steam the milk. Add cold milk and ice instead.

And that’s pretty much it! Pretty easy, right? If you make our Sorghum Latte at home, be sure to take a pretty picture and tag @parengo for a chance to be featured on our Instagram and/or Facebook page! Can’t wait to see it!
